No not No Claims Discount but New Computer Day
Raspberry Pi. It worked, straight out of the box, with a new monitor from PC world. The old laptop is dead - shame because there are a few files on it I want to keep.
Monitor from PCW 'cos they offered a 3 yr Replace it if it Screws UP (as many times as you like) warranty for £20.
And you get gcc, make, and loads of other software with the Pi
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)

Anyway - congrats on new toy. Have fun!
The keyboard is small and a bit different, which I don't mind - but I can't find the pipe symbol (aka vertical bar).
Shift-3 echoes as pound
backslash echoes as hash
pipe echoes as tilde
blip echoes as blip
ears echoes as at
shift-2 echoes as ears
... but where's the pipe?

Pipe - because it, er, pipes in shell script and it means OR in C
hash - because it is the comment delimiter in shell script
tilde - because it is the bit inverter in C
whereas backslash is only used (perversely) by Windoze as a filestore directory separator
why TF can't people give you the characters you need on a keyboard??
