  • Maybe something like the pitch factor. They haven’t done much with pitch and filters yet.

Wasn't there talk a while back about midi implementation on elcap, flint etc pedals?

    Well I’m interested.

I play guitar and take photos of stuff. I also like beans on toast.

    I think it will be the following;

    - El Cap size

    - Midi controlled

    - Drive one side, verb and delay the other
    That would be good :)

  • I think it will be a big-box drive pedal.

I was about to type that .... it is something that people have been asking for. Someone did a mock-up ... I mean how many Echorec delay units would they sell? Well I guess @Gassage would buy a shedload ... but it would be hardly a major announcement from a company that has a wide range of echoey pedals ..  ;-)

On the other hand they could be going into amp modelling .. that would be big and a departure from purely effects.

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

I hope so as well, that’s a big box for a digital echorec simulator.

Unless the Echorec hidden behind the computer screens in one of their Instagram photos is a massive red herring, it will most certainly be an Echorec simulator...with other stuff...possibly.

They will do a multiFX one day, and it will cost you one gold kidney, a ton of white truffles and the treasure of the Sierra Madre.

  • I predict it will be overrated, overpriced and be seen on a plethora of badly filtered instagram pedalboard posts

Strymon could quite easily stick all of their algo's into a single multi FX and sell it for about half the price of a second hand El Cap if they really wanted. They just won't.

Is the original Echorec such a famous thing? If they wanted to replicate a tape delay wouldn't they go for at least the Echoplex?
0reaction image LOL 0reaction image Wow! 0reaction image Wisdom
  • Well ill probably buy whatever it is. Sell it. Then read about how great it is/was/can be and buy again like i always do. :(

It's a pretty unique thing, using a spinning disc, rather than tape or chips to create the delay.

    Good detailed writeup here:  http://www.gilmourish.com/?page_id=74

It's a really great delay sound, so I could see it being popular. Though not sure it justifies a whole big-size pedal for that alone. Maybe it'll just be Timeline2.
