Free rock/heavy rock/metal drum tracks?

What's Hot
I need some basic decent ish drums tracks to jam over/record

I've been playing along to stuff on YouTube but I could do with some to download and keep so I can record over them when I get an idea I want to store.

Wavs, mp3s...anything will do tbh.

Anyone know a royalty free library or collection I can download?

Would I be able to download and keep them to use offline? Are you meaning drum only tracks?

The ones I've played along with up to now can only be used live on YouTube.

I need to be able to import them in to Reaper as a track that I can record over.

I can find the odd one or two by searching through Google results but was wondering if there's a large online library or collection of royalty free ones I could bulk download.

Do you know that you can extract audio from Youtube?

    Just google 'youtube audio downloader'.

I knew it was possible but I had no idea that it was legal/royalty free.

    Thanks for the tip!

  • If you're already using Reaper, I'd recommend the MT Power Drum Kit VST. It's free, sounds decent and comes with a bunch of pre-programmed patterns that you can identi-kit together in seconds to build your own tracks.
I find it invaluable when attempting to write new songs.

    I
haven't got round to using any plug-ins yet but this might be the thing that makes me.

    Cheers, dude!

    Honestly, it's a piece of cake.  :)
But there's loads of folk around here who can help you out if you're struggling.

I've loaded it up but haven't had the time to open it for a play.

If it is as easy as you say it is, I'll be over the moon!

  • I'd recommend watching the video on the website if you haven't already, but Polarity Man's offer seems like a belter.  =)

I'll give it a go if you give me a rough idea of what you're looking for. I actually enjoy drum programming :)
