Thorpy FX Mini v Normal size comparison?

What's Hot
'Scuse the new thread, but are there any pics with size comparisons for the Mini vs the normal size Thorpy's and the Mini vs a Boss size enclosure, please? Many thanks.

Asking for a friend. Yes. I'm asking for a friend, that's it.

  • Thank you, mate. Gunshot has been in my thoughts a lot recently! I mean, in my mate's thoughts.

    I'm waiting for someone to say the old bigger ones sound better, or that the pre lawsuit Muffroom clouds are more transparent.

    :)

    They are as good as people say. I have a Gunshot on my gigging board, which has been my main drive tone since getting it a couple of years back. Recently added a Peacekeeper as well when he reduced the old larger size ones.

    The smaller thorpy's are designed so the enclosure gives the tonez less headroom so you get more dirt.

    THe bigger box versions allowed the sound to move further inside and this meant Tonez were lost, some of them forever, in the deep corners of the casing.

    Because of the small boxes, they push the tonez inside, so they don't get lost so easily, adding more harmonic compression and a lower headroom.

    The Warthog is a lovely pedal, that one and the Dane tempt me most.

    I have an idea of one day actually being able to play both well enough and loud enough to justify expensive gear!
    We have to be so very careful, what we believe in...

  • I've had the Gunshot twice before and love it. One of my favourite drive pedals ever.

    Last time I was at the Major's Bunker, I have to say the Warthog was my fave of all the higher gainers. It's very RAT voiced.

  • Thorpy chasis size is related to the owners penis size.

    Small ---> Large
    Large ---> Extra Large

    I currently own two Gunshots, one of each size. Love this pedal, even though it takes a little time to suss out the optimum balance of the two gains and tone. Once done though it blows all other drives away!

    The mini is the exact depth of a Pedaltrain Nano... the larger one goes on my deeper Pedaltrain board.

    The “large” ones aren’t actually THAT large. Like with the top mounted jacks they take up less horizontal room than you might expect. There’s something quite reassuring about the larger ones as well, it wouldn’t surprise me if they were literally bullet proof

    The mini ones just look so damn cute though

    The Fallout Cloud I have, the smaller one, is just bloody rock solid. I've accidentally dropped it a few times and it hasn't broken yet!! (Sorry Thorpy!)

    100% correct. That makes me 5XL which is true.
