FL Studio, Kontakt and NS Kit

Anyone remember how I made these three work together? No? Me neither.

I used to have a template for FL Studio that had separate tracks for kick, snare (well, three for snare), hats, cymbals, toms and so on. I can't find it.

  • There is a template making entry in the file menu of FL 20. I use sforzando as a player for sfz samples (free orchestra), and I have that in separate channels in the mixer.

What is it that isn't working?

I've upgraded to FL Studio a million (can't remember the number) and Kontakt 7, and still can't figure this out each time I do it.

    I did it!

I'm writing it down so that next time I can search for this thread and find it.

    In this folder - NSKit7\K2_ns_kit7\kits-naturalstudios\stx

are the Kontakt multi presets for entire kits. Drag one into Kontakt's rack window. You can swap individual things later.

In FL Studio you then make a MIDI Out channel for each drum (two for the ones that have two notes activating them). Then adjust the home note so that putting a beat in the pattern editor fires that drum.

    Simplesish.
