Anyway, I'm not putting any of them ahead of the first three albums or Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.

I love Maiden, but listening to all the songs like this has really made it obvious just how dull the latest stuff is.
Their first two are up there. It's too soft nowadays. Almost compressed against the punk openness of the first two.
If they remastered them, would they be smoothing things out? (I'm not up on these matters)
Red meat and functional mushrooms.
Persistent and inconsistent guitar player.
A lefty, hence a fog of permanent frustration
Not enough guitars, pedals, and cricket bats.
USA Deluxe Strat - Martyn Booth Special - Electromatic
FX Plex - Cornell Romany
Really enjoyed it though, one track in particular reminded me of where Metallica could have ‘got inspiration’ from, for their “Nothing Else Matters” song
I love a long song as much as the next guy, but an album full of 8 minute maiden songs that all sound the same, is hard work to listen to.
Agreed 100%.
Regarding the "vocals that emulate the guitar melody" thing, I've always thought that many of the songs sound like Bruce went in the studio with the lyrics on a bit of paper then just read them out loud, making up the tune as he went along. Starting with Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
I really wanted to like AMoLaD but too many REALLY FUCKING LONG songs. A Different World is 3 minutes of pure perfection though - easily one of my favourite Maiden solos.
