NGD: Vintage Telecaster Custom

Sorry---- but.....even by my standards, this is one of my best scores ever.

1973 Tele Custom, same year as my Thinline.

It's a honey dripper- 7lb 2oz all orig save for refret and some tidying, and it's a tone machine- WRHB and gray back.

Utterly addictive to play, lush as f**k.

looks cool - very lucky to find such a guitar so close to only 7lbs - Remember to take off one string to sound like 'Keef'

My first ever electric was a CSL copy of one of those - and if money were no object I’d love to own a ‘real’ one. As ever Sir, you have excellent taste!

Where do you find stuff like that??? From what I've seen, anything over 20 years old seems to be snaffled up by "vintage" retailers with an whopping price tag slapped on it.

Or did it have a whopping price tag slapped on it..?

    :)

    Ok.  That's not so bad.

Vanity compels me to a birth-year Tele (1971)...  Or an SG.  Or anything, really.

I remember pressing my young spotty face against the plate glass window of  'Allegro Music' when those were released. The shop name still exists in some towns but long gone from our high street.
Back in those days it would have had a bright/white maple neck and headstock to contrast with that lovely thick 'TV' style logo. It's mellowed nicely. I seem to recall they didn't sell too well at the time, but that looks very nice now. Make it squeal a bit eh!

Yeah, I'm keeping my eye out for a Tele or Jazzmaster from 1968 for the same reasons.

Dang that's sweet! It's a jar full of mojo no less. I believe Keef was a big fan of these?
I think you need to have open days to show off your gear.. Lords knows I'd be in line for a ticket. :)

    Niiiiice.

I'm still yet to play anything with proper WRHBs but utterly convinced I would love them.
