I'm getting lots of ideas for new stuff to learn/play from this discussion.

Usually I pick stuff based on what I like listening to.  And it's all got a bit stale.  This thread has loads of great tracks for playing - most of which I know (ie recognise, not "know how to play") - and stuff that I probably wouldn't have thought of otherwise.

    :)
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

    Sorted.
Been out this evening and on the way went to the Co Op near to rocknrolldave's house (well, where I think it is) and they were playing Come on Eileen on the tannoy. Obviously some local fans of his there...

It is. Or it was. Bass player who's suggestion it was, left. New bass player and now its on the 'spares' list. Ho hum. I liked it but we were/are in a hurry to get the new guy up to speed and he didn't know it too well so it sort of got left by the wayside. On the plus side, new bass player wanted to do Slither. Great fun that one.

Interesting thread! I did a busking gig last week at a church summer fair, outside in the sunshine in a little gazebo come band stand. It was me and a guitar. Setlist was thus:

    1. Big River, Johnny Cash
    2. Homeward Bound, Simon & Garfunkel
    3. Apple Blossom, White Stripes
    4. Strange Fruit, Nina Simone (based on Jeff Buckley's cover though)
    5. Ho Hey, Lumineers (for the Sex on Fire crowd!)
    6. Pale Blue Eyes, Velvet Underground
    7. 12:51, Strokes
    8. Ace of Spades, Motorhead
    9. You've got her in your pocket, White Stripes
    10. Voodoo Chile, Hendrix
    11. (pretend encore!) Night Flight, Led Zep

Went well considering the music they are used to at the church!
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

The only song we have added for regular inclusion in the set since I posted my setlist on page 1 is Pharrell Williams' ubiquitous hit "Happy"..which I imagine a lot of bands are playing these days.

Id like to hear a version of happy without keyboards being done tbh..

We've added Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell" to our set list, which I blinking well love. What a great fun track (instantly became my favorite song in the set). Goes down great as well.

Good crowd pleaser that one .... do you do the intro like the record, as in both bits at once cos I love that riff and everyone seems to do one bit only or one bit each

We're a single guitar band so it's all me, but (confession time) I'm struggling to palm my pick for the intro and get it back in time for the next riff and solo when that happens later in the song....so the first time we gigged it I got the bass player to play those four notes (hides in shame).
