    FFFFFFFFFFFS.

Well, there it is. They've managed to fuck it before it's even started.

Don't follow but I haven't had much coffee yet! Does that mean no trails between presets?
Yeah they say they might impliment it in future but I'm not holding my breath as far as line 6 future support goes.
Line 6's support isn't that bad tbh. They've released several firmware updates to the Pod HD series. Are they as prolific as Fractal? No. But Fractal would release a new firmware to correct a typo!

This looks great, but there's no way on earth I'd ever have the time to set it up and tweak it properly. For those of us with that spare time, though, I bet it will kick some arse.

Just found something about the trails. One of the Line 6 guys said no for the launch but there will be some "pretty nutty ideas" coming in the future.

Back when I was using Pod Xt Live the updates were great. Not too often but every one that came added some great features without completely ruining or changing things. The support has always been great.

I'm also guessing if enough people moan about it, it will be easy enough for them to do a quick tweak and put it in. It won;t be here till summer apparently.

Apparently you can design your presets to do a sort of pseudo-spillover... so I'm guessing that means scenes within presets.

The reverbs and eight of the ten wahs come from HD, but they've been rebuilt in HX, so they sound better. All other effects have been created from scratch within HX. To pull some of them off, we've had to physically model the behavior of incandescent light bulbs, transistors, bucket brigade chips, and other components. Completely new architecture and DSP engine.

From Digital Igloo (Line 6 employee)

I hope there are more parameters with the reverbs, although if they've been ported over... I suspect not. Be interested to hear what the quality improvement does to the Particle Reverb.

There are completely new delay models as well.

I should stop reading this thread. I just can't afford to the consequences. :)

Remember they were doing announcing something about this at Winter NAMM but it never came about?  Looks and sounds very interesting.

Looks pretty damn cool. My main concern would just be how it holds up to regular gigging, it looks awfully pretty to go on the beer, sweat and spit-soaked stages many of us grace.  :D

I actually kind of think that a lot of the quality of a multi-fx/ digital unit comes not from the programming of the modelling (though of course that IS important) but from the quality of the hardware - the AD/DA converters and filters, op amps etc. If those aren't up to snuff, and I didn't think they were on the M series, then there's nothing programming can do to get over the inherent flat sound of cheap conversion.

The price of these units inspires confidence there.

They are claiming the units are extruded aluminium which means they should be tough.

If the screens are gorrilla glass they should be able to take a beating and will be less likely to suffer the issues things like tablets face from being dropped on a corner.

Does sound like they've given it a good testing in the toughness department - they dropped it, threw it, stomped on it, even the knobs apparently got a good kicking and survived.

Apparently there is a video of this process which may be released at some point.  Could be rather amusing. :D
-- Before you ask, no, I am in no way, shape or form related to Fuzzdog pedals, I was Fuzzdog before Fuzzdog were Fuzzdog.  Unless you want to give me free crap, then I'm related to whatever the hell you like! --

Not exactly may kinda thing for various reasons. However, if this means Line6/ Yamaha have been updating their modelling and user interfaces this may mean a new generation of offshoots from this to come - replacement for the DL4, that kinda thing- so positive knock on effect ( no pun intended...) for those of us with humbler needs. :)

Can you watch porn on the colour screen though?

And even more important is the screen splashproof??
