Anyone else watching this on Prime? Mighty weird but very compelling. Ian McShane is very good, Gillian Anderson too. It's definitely pushing the tv barriers : I thought they weren't allowed to show erect penises on tv,  but apparently they can now.

I started reading the book, but it all got too weird. Started watching the TV series, but I haven't seen any todgers in it as yet. Are you sure it's not Pornhub you were watching?

Been a couple of stiffies in it so far. Where Shadow finds his wife's phone and where the Middle Eastern guy meets the genie. 

And what is this "Pornhub" you speak of?

MrsTheWeary read the book and we've started watching it, I think three episodes. Despite the erections and the giant vaginas I think we've just got a bit bored of it and might have stopped watching. Definitely more a MrsTheWeary thing than a me thing so if she loses interest that's it.

Tbh the errect knobs have been pretty well justified by the storyline

This basically. Every culture that has visited the US in the past has brought their Gods with them. The old ones from the days of the Vikings, the Egyptians, the Indians are all but forgotten. Thor * edit nope not Thor I really mean Odin* (Ian McShane) is rallying them to fight back against the new gods of technology, money etc.

It's a lot funnier, weirder, fightier and racier than it sounds. And there's a zombie and a leprechaun, a fair bit of shagging and quite a bit of nudity. I like it, my wife's not really convinced yet but she's sticking with it.

Spoilers! (although ... his name is Wednesday derived from Odin's Day and not Thursday derived from Thor's Day ... so not much of a spoiler) 

Spoiler-vision - though he mentions Thor as one of his names so, calling him Thor isn't wrong either .. oh, that's confusing... and in an early episode another god refers to him as Wodan the Germanic god of Magic ... so perhaps he's been carpet-bagging his way around to be worshipped a whole lot - even though there's a whole bunch of Jesus roaming around, perhaps there's some back-story hidden away... did he kill the competition to get his extra worship?

I have read most of Neil Gaiman's stuff - this book was great and the show is so stylish and well filmed - it's a bit odd but stick with it - Ep 4 and the last 2 were fantastic!
