And there's a zombie and a leprechaun, a fair bit of shagging and quite a bit of nudity. I like it, my wife's not really convinced yet but she's sticking with it.

Started it.  Found it a bit tacky and perhaps self-indulgent.  I also found the constant music is distracting more than anything else, every scene has intrusive bgm..... and it's not like a John Williams score!
Lovejoy is good in anything though isn't he?

Watched episode 1 a while back...thought, hmmm that's weird and haven't returned to it.

Spoiler-vision - though he mentions Thor as one of his names so, calling him Thor isn't wrong either .. oh, that's confusing... and in an early episode another god refers to him as Wodan the Germanic god of Magic ... so perhaps he's been carpet-bagging his way around to be worshipped a whole lot - even though there's a whole bunch of Jesus roaming around, perhaps there's some back-story hidden away... did he kill the competition to get his extra worship?

Referencing the spoiler. Each of the Gods has different aspects. It's possible for all versions to co-exist as separate gods or the whole God.  Think of the Holy Trinity. It Doesn't have to make sense or need a back story because, you know, religion.


We can have one character playing multiple gods.  We can have multiple characters playing one god.  


That is the great thing about fiction/religion


Had he he been killing off the competition, or has he just been around longer, survived more migrations, gained and lost more aspects etc...

I think Wednesday says at one point that there's multiple versions of Jesus throughout the country (or world), so I think you're right.

I too have read the book several times, don't have Prime though.

I almost gave up on it after a couple of episodes. The storyline just seemed completely random. The cinematography kept me watching because it's visually stunning.

It turned a corner for me during the episode when "dead wife" came into it. Now I'm hooked and I'm just going with it.

Plus there's the bonus of Gillian Anderson who is riveting and charismatic as usual.

Have they finally amended the Obscene Publications Act then ?  For decades we were all allowed to see what a woman had for breakfast, but the sight of a boner was deemed utterly beyond the limits of decency.  Twats.

It's worth persevering with, interesting concepts and flashbacks being explored with some great acting and direction.  

...and Gillian Anderson.  Sigh.
