You are supposed to follow the rule that says leave the prices in the Ad.

If you're going to use the Classifieds you need to read and follow the Classifieds rules.

Really - the idea is that over time the forum builds up a resource of ads that help people price their stuff. There'll always be variation, but it's somewhere to start.
