Wow duly awarded dude that’s awesome.  You and I are definitely going to have to talk about a bound body in the same colour to go with that neck.

Okay, first of all excuse the mess of what you’re about to see. The next portion of the thread is set in my back garden which looks awful just now. Basically, after buying the house 5 years ago we never paid much attention to the back garden... until now.

So, new workshop time. The garden is on a gradient and slopes away from the back of the house. Once the grass was cleared from this side I ordered 16 tonnes of drainage stone to build a heavy duty base for what is coming.

The next part was absolutely awful. This all needed levelled and a few of my friends (builders and ex builders) have since confirmed that these stones never get moved by hand on a site. Well, there I was with a spade and wheelbarrow because I couldn’t afford a mini digger. These were a nightmare to move and level. But, i got it sorted. I must admit, it’s hard to remain focused on the goal at this early stage. The excitement wore off and it was simply a horrible chore tbh.

Next step? Treated runners had to go down and get levelled.

This took about 4-5 hours to do, once the first two are sorted it’s quite straight (bad pun) forward from there.

Ive never done this type of ground work before so admittedly the prospect of doing it right was daunting. But, it looks like taking my time and using the right tools paid off as the base was delivered yesterday... and it was bang on!

And you've got some overflow space into the smaller green shed on the right should you need it!

It’s literally happening right now, very exciting!

All materials are on standby so when the boys are away I’m straight in to get the fitting done. 

That green shed is my new spray booth

Beyond excited mate. I think the last 18 months has taught me there is nothing that can’t be done.

Now, I have to insulate, dry line, install a stove, lay the flooring, wired it up and build my workbenches!

Wow! That must be so satisfying to see going from an idea to reality! Great work, you'll get a lovely setup in there. Hope your neighbours don't mind the fumes though!

Thanks guys, I don’t think it’ll be real until I’m up and running. Still a bit to go but after 48 hours we’ve managed to do the first fit of the electrics, insulate, dryline half of it and nearly built the hearth for the stove.

It’s exciting and scary. It’s a lot of investment too but it’ll make my life so much better. I don’t spray here btw, this is a prepping and finishing area

Yeah this has only been achievable by working 2 16 hour days and another 2-3 to come. I have a bit of a backlog now but once I’m at the workbench it’ll all fall into a tidy production line. I can’t wait for all the space I’m gonna have! Working in my kitchen has put the whole house into chaos for a year

Haha... Yeah I was quickly barred from working in the dining room. Get's messy really quickly doesn't it?! So great you just have to walk across the garden, I have a 12 mile drive to my workshop and it's been a nightmare lately with road closures. Look forward to seeing it all kitted out man
