Am doing a homebuild TC and struggling to get a color blonde similar to yours. Any tips, please? This is my first homebuild. I was thinking I might have been better off doing a thin base coat of white lacquer, and then building the blonde lacquer on top. Instead, Ive used base coat of clear, with many coats of butterscotch blonde. Am a bit disappointed. If you've pointers, Id appreciate it, thanks.
• your thoughts were quite close
• avoid most finishing products called “blonde” as they’re historically inaccurate (based on what I’ve used)
• really study the colours of the old guitars and ask yourself “how can I achieve that”… bearing in mind the 2nd point

I'm a little surprised at how Fanta orange the neck is given your comments about blonde finishing products above though.

What I will say is it pushed me to grab a Golden Era tele neck that was on reverb for a steal. No clue which guitar that’ll go on but I’m certain it’ll be an epic neck
