1965 Epiphone Olympic - Cherry - £1200 - Sold
Next up in the cull - this one is featured in a review I did:
http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/77170/1965-epiphone-olympic-a-review-for-the-vintage-newbie#latestIn that thread there are pictures, text, comment and some sound clips.
This is an Epiphone from the Gibson USA Kalamazoo factory days - Honduran Mahogany - Brazilian Rosewood Board - the real deal.
Now, it's a single coil pickup - but it's got some real punch to it! But for me the most astonishing thing is the weight: 4lbs 14oz..... (!)
Comes complete with original "hard" case (it's more for originality - you wouldn't want to use it!)
Although I have no provenance whatsoever, rumour/legend has it that this was owned by someone famous and used on a classic album from the early 2000's...
