If it’s possible to add expression/control switches, which looks probable, I think it’ll land very well. As with anything it’ll be the price which is the determining factor. 

That said, I don’t expect it to be nerfed in any way. I think you’ll get full functionality from the outset. 

What's your guess at signal routing? Maybe L channel for pre-in and pre-out and R channel for post-in and post-out, in mono?

There’s an expression pedal connected in the picture.

IIRC it used different hardware, and had software architecture which was different from the other products. So expensive to maintain and modify. This one is presumably compatible.

If memory serves me correctly, at the time they stated that they lost a key member of staff who had the necessary skills on the chipsets used by FX8 and AX8 which were different architecture to AX3. Then those chipsets became obsolete and the FM3 was released based on a scaled back AX3 architecture. Something like that.

Looks like this could be a really nicely sorted unit. 

Think I’ll hold off any post fx purchases until this is released. 

Looks like the switching is typical Fractal. I.e. really flexible.

Read the manual, I’ll pass, seems to not be too sure what it wants to be tbh, why bother with it also doubling as an audio interface ?. I’ll stick with my FM9 in 4cm
