Bought a Fractal FM9 the other week. Have to say I'm very impressed. Moved over from a Helix LT, then a HX Stomp + pedals setup. Very very happy - feels like a definite upgrade for me.

I had AF2, then AF3, then a Helix for jams, which was 2 steps back. Now have an FM9, which is very close to the AF3

Yeah it blows me away how little DSP gets used with another amp, delay etc. I can see where the AF3 is more powerful but, really the FM9 certainly feels enough for me!

Selling my FM3 for a bargain price if anyone is looking! I've put it in the Amps for sale as i wasn't sure where it should go! Maybe we should have a "Modellers for sale" category :)

This isn’t the Classfieds, so you shouldn’t be advertising here. The smart thing to do is explain why you’re moving it on.

  • Surely this was a perfectly acceptable post? He didn't post a price, just put an idea forward...

@roland I don't appreciate you patronising me telling me the "smart" thing to do. Not your place at all.
Other people have done the same thing, it's in lots of threads where an amp/guitar/pedal is discussed and somebody mentions they're selling one in the classifieds. Ffs there's one about 6 posts up from mine which you didn't feel the need to patronise.

@Gadget mods not gods! To keep things fair, civil, right etc. Not to tell people what the smart thing to do is. Or pick and choose when to apply the rules. If i've broken a rule, which i don't think i have, Roland.needs to apply the same approach with the other 137 threads where someone has done it!

@supes This is completely within my role here. You posted what was effectively an advert without a price, and you posted it outside of the Classifieds. Normally I would remove the comment, and send you a PM. On this occasion I thought it would be more helpful to your sale, and to other readers, to hear your reasons for moving on the FM3.

This is a genuine not-sarcastic question, was there some reason that post mentioning he had one for sale in the classifieds was against the rules and the one at the top of the page wasn’t, or were they both against the rules but the one at the top of the page got missed?

@Roland I typed a longer response but i honestly can't be arsed with it. When selling i've always tried to offer things much cheaper on here so someone gets a bargain, before ebay/reverb etc. Today i had the audacity to signpost to it from a relevant thread. There's loads of posts doing the same, and i'm glad because they're helping potential buyers.
Makes no sense at all trying stop that for people. Just delete it.

That post at the top of the page isn't there.  It was removed and a PM was sent to the person posting it.

Now lets get back to the subject of why are there not two pitch shift blocks in the FM9?  I want one for drop tuning and one for other pitch shifting shenanigans.

I really don’t want to prolong this but just trying to understand because I can see a post from FarleyUK posted at the top of the page on Oct 24 saying ‘selling my FM if anyone is interested’? Or can you sometimes see posts that have been removed?

No they don't!  The title should have which instead of what as it is examining a predetermined set. Also the title should end with a question mark as it is a question.

Also aren't they called The Studio Rats, so you've got it wrong too!  In fact, in your post, your wrong about some other people who are wrong too.

    Standards today!
