I think it's partly that it's on YouTube so we want to be instantly be impressed whereas as a bit of relief within a long noisey concert and enjoying the tension of is he going to take this aimless noodle somewhere perhaps makes more sense. Maybe.
I think that's the love theme from the Godfather rather than the theme from the Godfather he goes into despite the YouTube comments although I'm happy to be corrected on this. 
The vocal is terrible though, only saved by the crowd singalong.

Yep, that was just noodling, kept skipping to see if it got interesting anywhere and gave up before any singing started.

I actually listened to quite a lot of that and was disappointed tbh, I generally like his playing but that was pretty well a carbon copy of Ted Nugent circa 1977, only with nowhere near the character or style.

Also, when did it become hard to hear a rock concert over people talking?!!
