  • The MacOS weak point is defiantly networking. Often very slow (especially when talking SMB/NFS) 
    That's my home experience. We've got a LAN around the house (cabled by the builders), plus a wifi and a cable-attached WD Cloud drive we use for shared storage - media files, mainly. My wife's Win10 machine works with the WD using File Explorer and it runs just as fast as if the disk was local to the PC. Finder on my Macbook is very slow indeed when building lists (I believe it's something to do with recreating the metadata files you get with MacOS, or just processing them). WD provides a MacOS app that mimics the iOS app I use on my iPad. That is much faster than Finder, so it's what I use.

    It does seem to just be an issue with Finder, though. Everything else seems fairly equal between Win10 and MacOS. .
