In between Hurricane builds, I've been working on a new model i'm tentatively calling The Dakota.

    Here's the neck heel detail...

Two completely different woods, or just differently-coloured mahogany?

Just different colours of Mahogany, the neck being Honduran, the body African :)

    Evening chaps!

This has been getting quite a good reaction on my social media so far....

I envisaged this one as the soul of a Firebird, sprinkled with a little nod to the Flying V and with a more ergonomic, manageable vintage Single Cut feel and came up with The Dakota!

Bloody hell, those Dakota’s are fantastic! What finish is that on the green one - an aged Pelham, Inverness, or...?

Ah, thank you chaps, very much appreciated as always!

That’s an aged Pelham Blue - colour matched to a 1965 custom colour SG Junior I borrowed :)

That is such a great idea, Pelham blue too. All the fun of a Firebird without any of the embarrassment : P

Nice! A Vibrola (Lyre type) would make that even cooler, IMHO...

Or, fit a Mastery bridge and trem for a nod to the old with tuning stability for the modern world.... it would point it towards the Fano market a bit too. ;-)

    Lovely, though. :-)

P Blue looks ultra cool - Those mini humbuckers, are they a Firebird version, or more like the original Epi models - Good to see you are nice and busy - Hope to see you again soon at forth coming guitar shows in the late summer/autumn

It's been rather busy in the workshop of late so I've neglected this thread somewhat!

Here's a few that have been completed recently:

    Dakota in Tobacco Sunburst:

My own personal Hurricane has now almost completely faded to a beautiful honey burst/lemon drop:

I performed an 'Allen Collins Mod' (Dogear P90) in the bridge position of a heavy aged Pelham Blue Dakota:

And just finished up Hurricane #011 in 'Junior Burst' today:
