Are there any well known players of an HH Strat?

I'm sure I've seen pics of Michael Landau with one.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

  • Does Dave Murray from Iron Maiden count?  Does having a middle pickup negate the HH-ness of his guitar?  Jim Root definitely has a HH Fender sig too.

Heard about Herrig recently, will need to check him out.

I thought Root played a Tele despite Fender having an EMG version of everything they make as a Jim Root sig

Last time I saw Slipknot he favoured the awesome sandblasted Jazzmaster and the Strat.

I'll compare the specs myself when I get the chance but since this thread is here anyway, how different are "fat strats" I.e. Steve Vai's among many others, to an actual fender Strat with hums?

Essentially the same or completely different guitar?

The difference between an RG with HSH or HH and a Fender Strat with the same pickups is vast.
    They're different machines entirely.

The guitar probably doesn't count as well-known, but this chap certainly does - and was probably the first to use a two-humbucker Strat...

Billy Corgan uses stacked humbuckers in his signature strat. Technically HHH rather than HH

I don’t know if it quite counts here but Hiram Bullock was usually a HSH strat ( and later Cort strattish guitar) chap.

Wow I didn't know that. I've always kind of half wished he used a humbucker guitar, would love to hear it. Was it with Deep Purple or later?

Holdsworth had a phase of HH Strat style guitars before he endorsed Ibanez.
