PS Plus

Feck me it's brilliant. Next month gets Assassin's Creed 3, Stealth Inc, New Little Kings Story and Jak & Daxter trilogy. And if you buy another subscription package now you get a free 90 day bonus. It's brilliant!

I'm going to have to get me a Vita :)

    Awesome.

I've got about half a dozen great games I haven't even started.
I haven't bought anything on disk since I've had it.

Can you only play them next month, or can you play them forever as long as you download them next month?

As long as you still have the PS+ account you can continue to play any game you've ever downloaded.

I think I'm going PS4 instead of XBOXONE.

  • How much does PS Plus cost? I'm tempted to get a PS3 now that they're cheap(ish).

I think it's something like £39 per year, but they often have offers on.

They also occasionally have other crazy offers like £10 for a year of music unlimited.

Considering they have 3-4 games a month its an insanely good deal.

It's extremely good value even for just the one console. The price of one game gets you long-term rental of at least 24 games a year, and double that if you get a Vita/PS4 as well. If you jump on good discounts and deals for PS+ when they come up it's less than £40 a year too- the subscription periods stack up. I'm currently subscribed up till December 2015 :)

And it works well for Sony- now I have a bunch of great Vita stuff on my "purchased" list I'm looking at getting one of those as well.

The Vita's just had a price drop as well, I believe. I'm quite tempted to get one.

Yup. It's 144 on Zavvi, but I'm tempted but the 169 with-10-games bundle. Between Wipeout, MotorStorm RC and Lemming I'll be a happy camper.

Seems v good value considering they're obviously going to keep pushing it through the PS4's life. Remote play between those 2 looks like a great little addition too.

I want one now. You're all bad people. I suppose the cost of a PS3 wouldn't be too much of a dent in my redundancy monies...

And I'd obviously need a Vita for playing whilst on the train/waiting for job interviews...

You can also pay for a PS+ sub using PSN credit.

There's often offers on PSN cards eg

    http://shopto.net/product/search/genre/PSN POINTS/platform/ps3

£25 card for £20.86, get a couple of those to pay for a 365 day sub and you'll have spare credit to spend on DLC etc
