To me it sounds gainier than the SLO100 in similar settings.

Could be that pseudo variac power section adding some breakup though.

Just as a bit of a one-year-later bump...just caught an interview with Mr Soldano on Rick Beato's channel - the SLO 30 is basically the SLO-100 with starved voltage, half the power valves (still using 5881s) and smaller transformers, pretty much like the HR25.

Cool that they've gone this route rather than doing the normal EL84 for the low powered version thing that people usually do.

Clever amp designers always say they can make any valve sound how they want, but they never seem to capture the response of an EL34 / 5881 / 6L6 amp.

I suspect that it's down to the more sensible position of the effects loop. I seem to recall ICBM telling me that the original position, just like the Jet City 50W and 100W amps, actually had the effect of reducing the available gain slightly. Moving it to after the MV therefore increases it a bit - it's like the traditional "1 more, innit?", except real. That's exactly what it did when they changed the loop position to make the JCA22H.

EDIT: Ola mentioned that the video had to be out today, so I suspect we'll start to see a few more of these demos shortly (and the SLO-100 too). I know Glenn Fricker and Bea have both had the SLO-100 for a week or so now.

Pre order price is £2199 and they have 4 on order although that me be 3 left pretty soon.

    ...

When I ordered I was told 10% down and rest on collection so £219.90 was my deposit

The first batch is of 2 expected mid July and then another 2 due later on.

I may have the second one unless someone's beaten me to it  ;)

Does anyone know, if I pre-order now with GG, can I then sort out a finance when it comes to pay the balance?

Could obviously ask them but just wondering if anyone has done that before?

I didn’t ask as I was just paying outright.

They are pretty quick with responses.

Just realised, the V30's I'm betting were in that cab (and now fitted as standard in Soldano cabs) probably contributed to how aggressive it sounds.

I've just seen that GuitarGuitar have upped the pre-order price of the SLO-30 from £2199 to £2599:

    I'm glad I pre-ordered on Friday - assuming they'll honour my £2199 price...

Could be a few reason initial batch now sold and next lot are costing more due to rates.

Im not entirely sure that they can adjust payment after it’s ordered.

They can probably do what they want, as the sale isn't final until the balance is paid, but I'd like to think they'd honour the initial price.  We'll see in a few weeks I guess!
