This is why I like LePou's Le456 [now with impulse responses]

So I'm sure my incoming Axe FX II will render it obsolete, but for the last year and a half I've been using LePou's Le456 amp sim pretty exclusively for demos and songwriting sessions with the band.

I just love the crunchy high-gain tone it gets, but still remains clear and pristine. Here is a sample from an upcoming TNBD tune (just my guitars so far!)

  • Sounds awesome. :D seriously crunchy.

I was going to get it the other day but there was too much traffic to his drop box! :(

Oh aye, going through Recabinet with some impulses I made of my Egnater Tourmaster 4x12. I'll upload them for you later.

Very cool, I dont have a cab worth doing it for but out of interest how much does teh room / mic matter when you're making the impulses?

It matters greatly. I did mine in my bedroom with a load of blankets over the cab to reduce the room reflections.

All of the LePou plugins are usable, and who can complain at the price!

The Ignite amps ones are good too.

@Drew_fx I need to demo up some riffs from practice tonight so I'll give em a go.

  • Sound cracking.

The riff reminded me very of the sort of thing Speedy West would be doing now if he were still around, so good work.

Used them on stuff I demo'd last night. Im usually going through amplitube 3 and the soldano/orange models but gave your chain of le456 and these IRs a bash and it is definitely pleasingly chunky.

Just stole your impulses and gave them a go with LePou, really liking it!

First time I've tried computer amp modelling for about 5 years, and got a decent sound first time :D
