Well after many hours of hard practice I didnt do too bad with the 6 notes on the Bass ...;-)

It was only a Vintage V100 but seemed to sound good. At least I now know not to bother upgrading the pickups! 

I felt bad afterwards that you and Nick didn’t play on the final ironman, sorry about that.

My funniest moment of the day, tuning up before Rocks, my clip on tuner said I was definately in tune, yet @mrkb sounded in a totally different key when we both played an A chord! WTF I thought, what’s happening to my guitar? Why now? Until @spark240 found the kemper was on a detuned setting! I think I may have attempted to use the footswitch before, I didn’t touch it after that incident.

Yep !....that was a VH patch - pitch shift semitone down for the correct versions n of yo real got me ,

you pressed a patch change button by mistake......could have  been worse..... I’ve started a song whilst still in that mode before ...whaaaat !

any how....next time I’ll set up a basic patch for clean / jangly / overdrive / boost...

Singing is a bit pitchy in places but I reckon I could nail it after a few more goes

Great to hear the guitar properly from FOH, it wasn't very clear where I was standing. I shall henceforth refer to this phenomenon as the Kemper paradox

In the first tFB jam at Quad a coupla years back, there were some vids that went with the set list. Since it was the first, there was some apprehension about how it would all work, and whether we'd want vids etc etc.

I think it's something we could look into for next time. It can be a really honest way of assessing a performance, cutting through the "I thought-I-sounded/looked-really-good-bullshyte". I did have a camera this weekend, and took a few photos, but now I've posted vids, I think stills might be a let down. If you want some pix, let me know, and I'll see what I can upload for your visual pleasure*.

Yeah it would make sense to set up a camera (or even a phone) on a tripod and film it all. The camera audio could be used as mix ambience for the multitrack too

Did anyone else eavesdrop on the band that were practicing across the corridor from us? They sounded awesome, brutal, the guy at reception told me they were called Detritus. I see now they are a veteran Bristol thrash band that have reformed and were practicing for their comeback gig in November

It is often the case that, when the music is at its most exciting, the performers are not looking especially appealing.

Conversely, when the musos are pulling great shapes, the sounds may not be especially entertaining.

One of my favourite images was of my brother, mucking about on my co-guitarist’s Les Paul during a rehearsal break. The pic looked great. The sound my brother was making at that moment was appalling.

As I suspected @spark240 s kemper recorded brilliantly, the Bassbreaker is a bit muffled, guess that depends on the mic placement, or was that direct as well?

@mrkb - nice efforts....For me the stereo field is a little too wide, I would try using a short reverb on the rhythm guitars ( on both songs ) but pan the reverb to the opposite side.
