As in live in West Herts (1 mile from Bucks), anything west of Cambridge is attractive
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......

    Cool beans.

7th sept is currently not a gigging date. As long as herself doesn't decide I 'need a holiday', I'm free and game.

Lots of village halls round my way (around five miles south of Eye) but right out in the sticks.
A Deuce , a Tele and a cup of tea.

    7th sept?
That's far enough ahead to be bookable.

  • I'm assuming this is not happening.

It would be fun though - I hope we can sort something out in future.

Unfortunately I'm completely tapped out with my new job so the chances of me finding the time to organise anything is minimal.

  • I wouldn't recommend Resonant / Half-ton. Small rooms, poor acoustic isolation and dire PA.  In Cambridge, Rhinocorn is the best bet - but the largest room is only big enough for a ~6 piece band.

I haven't been to Rhinocorn since it was Mulletboy but it used to be awful -- tiny rooms with wood veneer everywhere that made them horribly splashy. Has that changed?

The two main rooms at Resonant will easily hold a six-piece band and the acoustics in the main one are fine. I work there regularly so if you want to do anything there I can talk to the owner and sort anything out that needs sorting.

Hey Nick & others - any interest in resuscitating this thread?

Perhaps a Sat afternoon / eve late in Feb or early Mar?  Nothing elaborate, just a few amps, a few guitars and a few old guys ...

@TTony ; yep I'd be up for that.

I've got the Cam half marathon on the 8 March, but maybe after that it could be a goer.

    So 14 or 21 Mar?

If you can check availability of that village hall at the bottom of your garden, then we set a date / time and see who'd be up for it.

Whatever date  is chosen, there will always be some people that can make, and some that can't - easier logistically to set *a* date, and then see who fancies it.

As you said originally, definitely not a jam session!

Not sure if East Anglia includes mid Essex, but I'd be up for popping along if there's room. Not in a band at the mo, and it would be good to be able to turn up loud and talk crap about gear
