Finishing questions on guitar body

What's Hot
Do you use just oil? Or spray clear coat?
Poly or nitro?
What grit number do you use before applying finish?
And who else feels like Tim robbins at the end of shawshank redemption when sanding?

Osmo or Tru-Oil, and a thin sealer coat of poly varnish over any transfers because oil causes them to crinkle.

Grit varies with the type of wood. Typically 320 or 400.

Not me. The workshop has an air cleaner. Once you’ve seen how much crap it removes (and that’s just the visible stuff) you always want to wear a mask for sanding. I’ve got a basic mask for small jobs, and an air fed helmet for anything bigger. If I’m using an orbital sander I connect it to the vacuum dust extractor. If hand sanding then use the vacuum.
