I saw them live in Manchester about 4 years ago and he was great, his tone was pretty gainy live too, much more hair on it than i would have thought, but he plays with a very light touch

Also, Blue Jean Blues from the Fandango album has some of the most expressive blues playing ever IMHO.

Is there anything missing that I should be looking for?
If you want to be a real completist nerd then The Texas Tapes by Rainer and Das Combo although it doesn't sound that much like ZZ Top. Billy's last solo album for some straight ahead blues.
Yee har
Someone had to say it...
"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski
"Only two things are infinite - the universe, and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein
And it was the Elliminator album that first introduced me to them ... I was hooked from the very first time I saw them which was on the Tube in 1983 and the great video trilogy of Gimme all your loving, Sharp dressed man, and legs. It was only then that I discovered all their back catalogue.
Anyway, I love 'em, I enjoy playing their stuff, and audiences I've played to always enjoy ZZ stuff too.
Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.
Love a bit of ZZ Top...
