Currently enjoying my boss DM-3 and BF-2. If you put them both on with a Rat going into them you don't even need to play, you can just listen to the noise being flanged, is sounds like the Iron Giant sleeping. I really fancy a WMD Geiger Counter. That looks seriously fun.

I just bought the Spark Booster yesterday though and that is a very close second in terms of fun

A Spark Booster is fun? Now it's quiet, now it's loud, now it's quiet, now it's loud, now it's quiet, now it's loud. Oh yeah, I can see how that could be serious fun ;)

Fuzz Factory is a lot of fun but without delay as well I wouldn't want it. Same for Whammy- the tricks you can do with whammy+delay are mind-bending.

But if I had to pick just one effect, I'd have to go delay. One of the good digital timey-wimey ones like a Timefactor or Timeline, and not least so I can be The Edge in my living room.. :D

Heh, ok I see your point.

I meant it's fun to leave it on for the sound it makes. That was all.

I love my tuner. I can sit and watch the pretty little blinky lights for hours.

Octaver of some sort, to create a low octave for using in to a distorted amp.  I like both perfect tracking style and the glitchy kind that you're not sure are really listening to the notes you're playing.  I don't own one any more, I have never written a song that needed one either, but they're great fun.

Another vote for fuzz - I started with a bad one...or I thought it was bad at the time. and tried to use it like an OD. Now after years of buying and building a fair few I have a main board (wah / boost / od / dist / mods / delay) and a satellite board dedicated to fuzzes only.

I love the tone, simplicity and guitar interaction of a good fuzz face but I equally love the firepower of a Muff or hot rodded Tonebender.

Alongside the germanium boosters, Fuzz is the only type of effect I want to build.

@thorpy6 you need to get yourself an 80's Thomas Organ Wah, they are not too expensive yet and sound just like the theme of "Shaft"

Easy- a wireless radio transmitter that shares the same frequency band as your other guitarist or bass player.

    Hours of endless fun....
Or indeed shares a band with someone else altogether. I was at a concert at St Martin in the Fields once (think it was a carols one), where at some point they happened to clash with a nearby police or taxi band. Briefly sounded like the voice of God was sending cars across London.
Pedals? Wah. The novelty wears off fairly quickly, but that first few minutes of pretending to be Cream-era Clapton is always fun (particularly as Tales of Brave Ulysses is one of my favourites). Then it goes out of the loop for a little while till the novelty is re-acquired.
