After Skyfall however the MI movies have been far better than their Bond franchise competitors.

Not sure how well any of those have done. A female Bond would have a ready-made audience, they'd lose some fans but gain some new ones just on curiosity value.
Is that how this is supposed to work? ;-)
I had no idea that so much of his writing was inspired by his real life
Bond is mostly escapism for guys to watch, why would copyright holders destroy that on the altar of wokeness?
Changing the recipe could lose all the fans, and attract few new ones
I'm guessing it could end badly if the next film has no male Bond
There are already films and series with kick-ass female leads in various colours, that are great to watch, no one needs to kill off male lead characters to make it "fair".

I agree. But it's not just guys. Up until a few years ago, my wife had never seen a Bond film. Then one Christmas holiday we were finally on our own and Dr No came on the TV. I said I'd change the channel .. she saw Connery as Bond and thought she'd watch 10 minutes. She watched the whole film and thought Connery was a hunk (I'm no Connery). Since then she's seen some of the early films like From Russia with love and Thunderball and enjoyed them. Women do like looking at a hunk on the film screen .. Bond has a lot of female fans who'd be upset with Jane Bond.

Doing Bond as Alfie Solomons .. :-)

Now that, I would pay to see.
Cillian Murphy himself could be good
Quite a few templates in the Bond canon for ratios of posh vs comedy vs tough
Also Dan Stevens - he doesn't usually do action roles but he was really good in The Guest.
They're both quite young too, 36 or 37, the right sort of age for a new Bond actor if they want to get four of five films out of him.
Who cares that the spent cartridges from the weapons aren't there and he seems to have a lot of vintage Astons in the wrong colour.
Red meat and functional mushrooms.
Persistent and inconsistent guitar player.
A lefty, hence a fog of permanent frustration
Not enough guitars, pedals, and cricket bats.
USA Deluxe Strat - Martyn Booth Special - Electromatic
FX Plex - Cornell Romany
I always thought this had a Bond theme vibe to it, once it gets going, first minute is a bit slow. Middle section is pure Bond
