Is it just me, or has China just put 56 million citizens under quarantine/martial law, which means the epidemic numbers being provided don't really add up.

Are we failing to see that the shit has hit the fan?

I remember the media souping up the apprehension and imminent ‘crisis’ with bird flu. Didn't really come to much, although the drug companies ended up quite happy as they made hundreds of millions from selling vaccines to nearly every county on the planet.

The Chinese government has 56 million people on lockdown.  China's president Xi Jinping warns of 'grave situation'  so the Chinese are taking it seriously.

It is quite refreshing, or scary, to see that the Chinese taking it SO seriously.  Usually they play this down as much as they can.

But what they are doing is practically end of the world stuff, locking down pretty much the size of England.  It is mindblowing.

They are taking it into an unprecedented scale, the problem is that the numbers being presented to the public don't match the scale of the actions. So surely they're lying. I've certainly never heard of a lockdown of this dimension and quite frankly it makes me a bit scared of what's to come.

There are plagues of locusts in Africa too, one reported to be 30 miles wide. We're heading to ASDA later to stock up on tins of beans, AA batteries and sellotape. We have the car loaded and we're on standby ready to hit the road and head to the hills at a moment's notice.

My son is due to be going on a school trip to China in 3 weeks. Looks like they might have closed the country down by then. Doesn’t sound good for the Chinese population!
