You need to copy the *image address* and paste that here. From the *link* that you posted, I right-clicked on that, and selected the "copy image address" option.

Whether that'll work for you depends on what device you're using to access the forum.

Thanks for helping @TTony. I'm using a tablet so right clicking is not an option. I used to use the direct link option that imgur offered then they changed things. Bah. I've tried everything as far as i can see, adding spaces etc. Nevermind.
The second of the two posts above was were my tablet and imgur conived to only let me paste a link to this discussion regardless of what link I copied. It was weird, and I gave up.

REALLY, you need to sort out all the tips & how to content which has grown somewhat. There are now various dead links, or links to approaches that no longer work, and other guidance that isn't linked back into the main starting point.

It's a mess!

I've been helping people out on an individual basis, but that's really daft as (a) it's very inefficient and (b) the knowledge doesn't get shared effectively.

@sesh - imgur, via my Android phone.

Using the imgur app;

click on the pic you want to embed
then click on it again - the second click opens it in the middle of the screen on my phone
click on the share icon (bottom right of the screen)
that loads a screen with the sharing options
top of that screen is the image address, ending in ".jpg"
click the copy button, which is just below the image address
paste here
done

Tony, we’ve discussed this before. None of the moderation team has the time to keep these things up to date. In the case of image posting we also don’t have the range of hardware and software to cover all options. Consequently we rely on members to do this. Thank you for your own help so far.

As regards the closed thread, some have been closed to prevent comment, or use for test posts. The Classified rules is an example. if you’d like to show me which thread you’re referring to then I’ll take a look.
