I'm pondering swapping the BK Mules in my main guitar for a pair of P Rails, any negative things about them I ought to consider, or is it positive all the way ?

    I think it's a great pickup.
Get the Triple Shot mounting rings while you're at it, then you don't have to worry about all the wiring:

I thought the worst thing was having people tell me (without having heard them) that they wouldn't sound like real P90s. ;)

I liked mine; a decent array of good usable sounds.

I've got a couple of sets and love them.

The triple shot rings are great if you want to keep the wiring/switching simple and a real pain if you want to switch sound quickly in the middle of playing something ...

Sound great except for the single coil rail which, in my experience, is bit weak and anaemic - certainly compared to a Strat or Tele single coil. However, that may very well depend on what guitar it sits in or what you need it to sound like. Overall,, very versatile and the p90 and humbucker options are excellent.
