I'd never use super glue on nitrocellulose. The beauty of cellulose is that new lacquer can be blended in with old, making a seamless finish.

Super glue is great for synthetic non-lacquer finishes though.

Very good. However, I always get my new (to me) guitars set up professionally as my guitar tech is very reasonable so worth it. 

Only thing I’d like to add would be locking tuners and maybe a different trem system. Nothing wrong with it but just prefer the trem system on my other guitar. I made sure the alternative trem system would fit before I bought it though

Argh....I really shouldn't.  Any other time in the past 5 years I wouldn't even blink.  It's like the cost of 2 pedals but in these uncertain times.....

I think that would be the wise thing to do, considering the 12 month cycle for these are only like 2 months away.

I bow to your expertise on this Steve - But I've used it a few times with no issues - Always used guitars - Normally on a neck if a slight ding is to big that you feel it, so making it feel smooth etc - On a used guitar any such minor nick is generally accepted

Only ever used when the ding is skin deep so no wood showing

I would agree - many nice used R9's for a similar price and more 

I have to say that was the one that got my attention (I'm not buying anything at the moment though).  I don't want to be a kill-joy (and maybe Mark has an experienced view on it?) but why would a new R9 in one of (in my view the) most desirable finishes be left last in their stock and sold off cheaply?  Is there a fair chance that it didn't play as well as the others or something?  I suppose under the distance-selling regs you can always return it if it isn't right though.

Probably because it's a bit of a crap top. Really unimpressive from Gibson at £5k or whatever the RRP is these days.

It's pretty much all vintage spec apart from the two-point bridge and 9.5" radius, so the single string tree seems appropriate.
