Hoping there's some good tropical fish and carbon comp for vintage fuzz
I jumped on it when I spotted these ancient WIMA caps, it's cool that they've been making them so long, had no idea
A quick spot check reveals some low gain Si candidates for Q1s. Also some metal can JFETs which I've not seen before
ICs all seem to be logic gates, timers and counters, mostly turning up on model railway forums in searches
Sadly the 128 measures very low on my tester, ~60 hfe
Bloody hell I wouldn't want to buy these from little diode, bloody bonkers
The Ugly Face is based around a 555 timer, I don't know what that is but it sounds amazing lol
I got about 30 metal can JFETs and 30 of those 2N4265 things, plus a handful of larger silicon transistors measuring ~90hfe and some TO-92 JFETs
The tropical fish are all 100n (well, 90ish)
Haven't checked the resistor values but there is more variety there
I made a lot mistakes but I was expecting that. The best way to learn is to have money in it. Here all the tall things are too close together which makes it awkward to put together. Also missed a short trace so I've jumpered that on the other side
From this I learnt to print the design off and get a feel for how the components fit, and to run a net connectivity check before exporting. Pretty obvious stuff
Anyway it's a bass preamp, it's very loud and very clean and it works
I stole the graphic from @stickyfiddle in the Muppet movies thread lol. Kermit's tie appears halfway down his shirt so I'll try to fix that
Tayda's turnaound for enclosures is so long. They paint them to order and that's where the bottleneck is. Can't argue with the price though. I might see what Gojira have to say. Maybe we'll bond over our disregard for other people's intellectual property

I ordered 5
First stage is FX-10 boost always on - I put it on a 3PDT toggle so it can be bypassed. Too confusing otherwise
Then after that there's a have blue rangemaster stage (sorry Adrian). Was going to do a separate jack orman anti-buffer and was wondering how it would all fit, then I saw this
Then the last stage is a wampler pt2399 faux analog delay. I subbed the B50K time control for A100K to give finer control in the slapback range, and some extra lo fi long repeats at the other end
The third button is an amp channel footswitch and bi-colour status LED
It saves me from having four seperate boxes and covers most of my basic sound, for small board stuff anyway
No graphics for this. It'll get the dymo treatment when the new tape arrives
Don't think I'll be doing anything like this again, not a fan of hand drilling and fiddly off board wiring
