Forgot to picture the guts but it's tidy lol. Getting better at top jacks
It completes a set
The input is on the front and there's an output on the back to connect to the amp
From L-R on top there's an RCA socket to attach an audio probe, a toggle to switch between probe and jack input, a passive volume control with push/pull bypass/engage, a mute toggle, and a momentary mute button
The big yellow cap is a 1uf to block DC on the probe
Got sick of hearing buzzing shit all the time when probing audio so this should make the troubleshooting experience less grim. Also means I can just leave the amp on and not bother getting up
Need to make the probes now, one of these should do it https://www.switchelectronics.co.uk/products/black-3m-male-to-male-plug-rca-phono-cable-lead
I've got a some chunky sewing needles so the plan is to cut the leads in half, solder a needle to a bare end and then seal it up with heat shrink
It’s a Zonk on a BG Harding board. I had previously built an all silicon version on this board but it sounded very boring so I’ve redone it as an all germanium version after I took some bits from an old radio that fell into the right gain/leakage brackets. Two oc81s and an oc72
one is mine to keep, the other three are for selling on bass forum - the first batch all flew out less interest in these so far.
and yes I did plug all 4 in at the same time!!
works ok, not decided if needed
This one’s a rarity (apart from the WindMiller). Based on the overhyped Grampian Reverb 636.
The pedal consists of the AUX input, buffer/splitter and the output amp of the original unit.
I made some design mods to make it more pedal friendly:
1/ Changes to the input and output caps
2/ Changed to negative ground from pos ground using OC140 NPN Ge transistors
3/ Modules re-biased to all run off 9V .
4/ Duel drive pots to switch between different gain levels
5/ Low cut to remove some of the bass
Does it sound like Townsend’s reverb preamp? Hard to say from the original footage.
Feng Drive
The Goat
Profundis
Also 2 opto isolation daughter boards.
You would have to find or work out the schematics.
Either way free to a good home. Let me know and I’ll post them out.
Aion put a 30v pump on their TC Preamp clone, it's cool but there's so many diodes, and you still have to bias the signal afterwards:
This is awesome mate. I've used one of those OC140s in a fuzz it sounded so good. Do you have a link to the schem/layout? How are you finding it?
