Rock/alt/indie bands with double bass players

Jack White often has a double bass player in his bands, especially the first tour he did when he alternated between an all male and all female band.

Other than that, the only time I've seen it live outside of jazz is when I saw Carl Barat (from Libertines) live on his solo tour. Worked well there to be honest

I was out in Southampton a few years ago and happened upon a rock n’ roll trio busking in the high street.  They were called The Borderlines and had an extremely cool double bass player.  

I ended up booking them to play our local motorcycle club and they went down really well....turns out the bass player was Paul ‘Choppy’ Lambourne who played with Demented Are Go as well as many others.  

He’s a very, very good player.

Yep. Their first three or 4 albums Jim used exclusively upright bass. Now uses a mix of both on record and playing live (I've been a smidge obsessed with them for the last 21 years or so) 

This is a great example of it (as he has a bowed solo). Covering the Bruce Cockburn Classic recently for their Selfie Cam Jam series. This was one of the first recordings they ever did back in 1991, but they hardly ever play it anymore, so it was nice to hear. 2:45-ish for the killer bass solo;

I have that fretless bass itch these days, but anytime I check out a lot of electric bass videos, they turn me off a lot of the time. They just sound like the belong to a certain genre (jazz, prog metal, 80s pop). Nothing wrong with those genres, just not what I am into mainly. Tempted with a cheap upright electric bass, but figure I'll put it on its side and play it like an electric bass  
Picked up a uke fretless bass recently which scrated the itch somewhat, but too small a scale to get used to!!

Saw Ben Watt (Everything but the Girl) a few years back who had Rex Horan playing upright bass in a small venue. I swear to god, it was one of the most beautiful gigs I've ever seen.
