Recent Discussions - hiding "Guitars"

Any help appreciated. 

When I click on the Recent Discussions tab (which I do almost exclusively) I've just realised that no discussions in the core "Guitar" forum appear (i.e. the one in Gear section).  In fact, the Gear section list to the left of the posts is missing "Guitar" entirely when I'm in Recent Discussions.

Is there something I've done to hide it by mistake?

This works better on full size devices rather than the mobile site ...

Go to the forum's homepage (click the FB logo, top left of screen).
See all the category headings? 
As you hover over each heading, a little black cog wheel appears.
Click the cog wheel for the "Guitars" category.
A pop up box appears.
Click "show".

You can choose to show - or hide - each sub-category  in the Recent Discussions view.

All good points. I should edit the title to prevent further disappointment but, no. I shall revel in the despair of others.
