Anywhere online outside the usual Reverb, eBay etc where one might get a Ric for a decent price? Any specific UK forums etc welcome. I'm after a 360, wanna join the club.
Those are still the places to look, you’ll just need to bide your time and be patient (not a virtue most of us on here have). For example, a lovely looking mapleglo 360 went on eBay for 1340ish earlier today, seemed a good price for the model and condition.

I just bought a 620 from a shop in Germany last week via Reverb.
It's an immaculate Mapleglo for the same price as the battered, dirty black one on eBay UK.

I saw a lot more 360s than 620s while I was looking, I'm sure something should pop up in the next week or so.

I know. I was the bid for £1,320 :anguished: It was about £1,180 when I made the offer with 10 secs to go. That's twice I've been burned on eBay for a 360.
It’ll happen, just give it time and don’t be in a rush.

  • Hey @ICBM you recommended the best way to restring without dislodging the R tailpiece and I promptly forgot. Could you remind me?

Restringing a Ric isn’t really that hard, I’m puzzled as why it’s seen as a thing - My technique - put a gentle 30 degree or so bend at the ball end of the string just where the winds on the ball end finish up.

Slide the string under the R far enough to clear it, then pull it forward so the ball catches in the wee hooks. Pull the string straight and clamp in place with a capo.

If you have a 12 and the right angled tuners, chop the string somewhere close beyond the next tuner, put a 90 degree bend in the string and feed it where it needs to go. Wind until tuned. Then repeat upto 11 more times.

    Easy.

Put both the E strings on first but loosely, so they hold the tailpiece in place and stop it swivelling round.

This is pretty much what restringing anything popularly described as "hard to the point of impossible" is... all you need to do is learn a few simple tricks and they're a breeze.

None of them need more than your fingers and a pair of wirecutters either, obviously apart from locking systems which need the appropriate Allen keys.
