Anyone heard of Freedom Custom Guitar Research?

I see listings for Freedom Custom Guitar Research guitars pop up on my ebay feed quite often. Examples such as this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/264806157580

But what am I missing here?

Sure, it looks nice, but what makes these so expensive? For the money you could get a masterbuilt Fender Custom Shop strat, so what is (supposed to be) so attractive about these Freedom Custom Guitar Research guitars?

    How much???
     so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

    I love the bit in the eBay listing about "feel free to email us, even for just a talk". Things like that always make me want to test it out, with a "Hi, how are you? What have you been up to lately?" kind of email :)
    Too much gain... is just about enough \m/
