RIP Chris Eccleshall

Sadly just been announced on his Facebook fan page. Sad news. I met Chris a few times when I was living in Devon and he repaired an SG smashed up by a courier for me. He was a lovely guy and will be missed - luthier to many of the greats. Any one with one of his guitars - you're very lucky.

RIP Chris.

He certainly had a great reputation. I've not tried one of his guitars but always had it in mind to do. RIP Chris.

I had one of his first electrics in the 70's.  It was a Les Paul sized 335 shape.  I wish I had kept it, gut in those days, I swapped guitars a lot.  Sorry to hear he has passed away.

My first 'proper' guitar was a red Chris Eccleshall flying V, which I bought from a bloke at school for fifty quid in 1980. It was a lovely guitar, although a bit intimidating to learn on. I ended up part-exchanging it for the banged up old Epiphone solid body that I still play to this day. I do still think about it from time to time though.
