Yeah, really surprising and very sad.

He apparently spent a lot of time visiting kids with terminal cancer right through his own treatment. He already seemed a great guy but that must've taken some serious strength

I think it's really sad, but a show of tremendous strength of character, that he filmed Black Panther and received all the recognition while he was already battling stage 3 colon cancer. It's a shock to many due to how secretive he was about it, nobody saw it coming at all.

I never saw the film (Marvel movies aren't quite my thing) but I heard he was a highlight and an overnight cultural icon attached to the project. RIP.
