WTB DAC for optical TV out

Hi, I'm looking for a DAC with optical input and RCA out. Anyone got anything? New TV arriving and I'm gonna use it through my mixer and monitors

Stereo or multi channel?

For Stereo, I love the humble Toppings D30 and D50.  Cheap as chips, sounds fantastic.  Best bang for your buck out there.

Yes, I had one a while back as part of a stupidly complicated, multiple legacy device, hand knitted TV/AV home setup involving HDMI switches & miles of various standards of cables (I like a challenge).
 The cheap Toslink box actually worked really well once I got past the issues of correct device powering on/off order & the TV picture sound syncing hiccups.
The biggest issue for me was needing so many different remote controls...
I eventually gave in & got a Yamaha AV Reciever with lots of digital & analog inputs & outputs, so the Toslink unit became redundant.

The hi-fi rabbit hole will still be there should you care to go down it, but for the price I'd start at the very affordable end first, you might find you like it

I used something that looked very much like that for a few years - it worked a treat. Now I have a Cambridge Audio Streamer that has multiple digital inputs with remote (app) switching so I used that instead.

I bought one of those  £10 DACs from Amazon to use with my old school Teac CD player. Sounded better than the built-in DAC in the Teac as probably the tech has moved on.

Ah I'm sorted, thanks for the advice everyone. I went with the Topping E30. I have no comparator, but I can say optical out to topping to mixer to monitors plus sub is by far the best sound I have ever had from a tv.

I'm glad I did it
