New Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band record...

What's Hot
'Letter To You' has just been announced today, and the title track and video is available to stream now...

https://www.nme.com/news/music/bruce-springsteen-the-e-street-band-announce-new-album-letter-to-you-2749924

It was all recorded played live in Bruce's own studio with no overdubs at all. Pretty cool way to record an album!

Thoughts? Quite liking the title track so far. Kinda reminds me of the sound/vibe of his Magic and Working on a Dream albums.

    Agree about that 2020 thought.
This track popped up on the radio a couple of days ago and it felt just right somehow.
I like the fella, wouldn't think of myself as a fan, but Springsteen has always been there and I respect what he does.
This song is spot on for here and now.  Maybe because I've got someone in my life who I miss and I'd love to be able to write a letter; that would feel so good -- and this is what Springsteen is really good at.  He doesn't know you but he can write songs that connect with your story.

  • Heard the single on the radio the other day and liked it.

So much so, when I sat down last night and there was the usual guff on tv a thought popped into my head - I went searching for Springsteen on Broadway on Netflix and gave it another watch.

  • Great interview on Rolling Stone if anyone hasn’t already seen it. Sounds like Jake is on the album, just not this first song.

  • ^^^Yeah, great article that.

Second song and video, "Ghost", been released...

Nostalgia-tastic, some great archive footage in there.

Your old Fender Twin from Johnny's Music downtown
Still set on 10 to burn this house down
Count the band in then kick into overdrive
By the end of the set we leave no one alive

    Great stuff!

  • Loving that /\

Reading that Rolling Stone interview it's gutting to think they would have been gearing up for a tour.

Well I'm loving the new album. So much room for Roy which is great to hear, and loads of classic Max drum fills.

Favorite track so far is the re-recorded "If I Was The Priest", pure Springsteen channeling Dylan. I love his old lyrical style.

Yeah, it's a good record. Not quite a classic so far, but very listenable.

If you listen to Bruce Springsteen (like I did on Graham Norton last night), he sounds astonishingly like Donald Trump, not just the New York accent but the verbal mannerisms as well

    freaky!

Only had a quick listen as we’re away and the missus hates springsteen, but there’s some outstanding stuff and some ok.
Letter To You, Ghosts and If I were a priest are superb. One Minute You’re Here is classic Nebraska style and House Of A Thousand Guitars is fun.

I can’t see the fuss about Janey Needs A Shooter. Should have stayed in 1971 in my view
