  • Isn't this going to be another pedal for those who play that worship/church music stuff? Not exactly rock 'n roll.

Have you heard any proggy metal in the last 10 years? Drowning in reverb and effects these days!

    Bye!

Agreed. I'm a Strymon fanboi, absolutely. But this does look interesting. I want to know the gorey details!

    Bye!

  • Shall we post the image rather than just links to it?

Looks very interesting. Not "just another reverb", for sure.

  • Why does everyone hate strymon because it’s associated with worship music? There are loads of pro musicians who use their pedals outside of that context in creative ways.

What a total flop of a reveal D
Buggered up the big show, then leaked anyway .

*I'm not into reverb but can see how this is cool for sound scapers

I don't hate Strymon – I own two of their pedals – but I can't get excited about another pedal that has multiple knobs for fiddling around with things like shimmer and decay. Is there something that this pedal is likely to be able to do that a) cannot already be done by other Strymon (or Chase Bliss) pedals and b) is something that people actually want to listen to outside of a noodling context? :o

Goddammit I was hoping for a tweed style vintage blues overdrive pedal.

They are the establishment mate, which means to some, that they must be shit and brought down...

The pedal looks brilliant, and like most Strymon stuff, probably will be. They are THE most designers imho.

  • Do P&W gigs pay that well then over there?

    £449 I reckon

Same price difference between timeline / big sky as Volante / bluefin

Some of those gigs are small arenas and people do make a living out of it. Over a third of people regularly attend church in the USA, that's 100 million or so people listening to live music every week.
Tipton is a small fishing village in the borough of Sandwell.

Yes, but often those are basically gigs by artists or bands, just on a different tour circuit. It's not really all that different to mainstream pop or rock music over here, just that the songs say "Jesus" instead of "baby" (thanks Simpsons), and the support act might be a preacher.

The scene has its own favourite bands and even something like guitar heroes (try Stu G, Nigel Hendroff, Jeffrey Kunde...)

That said, there are some very big, very rich churches over there who, unlike any UK church I've ever heard of, actually employ musicians for genuine actual money.

Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.
