With the arrival of a Fender '57 Custom Deluxe (blonde tolex, Celestion Cream alnico: yum) just before Christmas - and a further re-evaluation of my amplification needs (especially in the light of no live music in immediate prospect) - this fabulous amp head is back FOR SALE again.  RedPlate amps are truly something special, and this example of their design skills has amazed and delighted me for the past two years; I have plugged in most days, and always felt better for the experience.  The large number of tonal options mean you can refine both your clean and drive sounds to suit any guitar.  The cleans scintillate; the drive soars and sings.

So what is it?  Well, it's a handbuilt, custom ordered, RedPlate BlackLine head with the addition of a beautiful spring reverb (a significant extra, not available across all the RedPlate line).  The BlackLine is a true point to point, handwired boutique amp, with 2 channels and mid and boost control available from the foot switch (midi lead supplied, of course).  The amp is in immaculate condition; it is EL34 powered, with 240v UK voltage, and a vast number of tonal tweaks available via the various pull controls and micro switches on the front and rear panels.  Having said that, once you find your sound, it's also set and forget; I never had any options anxiety with this amp (as I did with Mesa/Boogie amps, for example) - and the master volume is one of the very few which really works.  And it's switchable from 50w to 18w, by the way.

This head has really beautiful clean sounds, but is also in the tradition of the Dumble ODS, and will certainly get you into that area - as well as many other musical genres.  The amp of choice for jazz and fusion genius Allen Hinds, and session giant Adam Goldsmith; check out Allen's YouTube videos - and some great demos by the ridiculously good Mike Hermans.  A totally pro piece of equipment, built to the most exacting standards, and good for 50 years of musical life.

I ordered this directly from RedPlate for a substantial sum of money; Keith Entringer built the amp to Henry Heistand's design.  Here's your opportunity to buy an amp for tone gourmets who will only accept the very best.  No personal collection of course due to the (very sensible) new forum guidelines, but I will post super well packed to all UK destinations for £75 insured.

Happy as always to answer questions.  And should you be interested, there is also a matching Zilla cab with a Celestion Cream alnico inside; the cab is a clone of the 3rd Power 1x12", and sounds wonderful (this is complete with the triangulated internal bracing favoured by 3rd Power, and triangular rear cutout!).  This is a perfect compliment to the BlackLine, and is available for a further £399.  I will do my best to add some pictures...as follows:

Apologies; these cab pics are really a bit pony, but short of demolishing a wall, getting a clearer view of the cab would be hard...I hope you understand.

I just put my Redplate back together with a 15” speaker and the result is remarkable. I recommend whoever buys this to pair up with a 1x15. I’m using a blackwidow allowing for a full range eq as well as revealing any flaws in my playing.
    Price is good too.

    Thanks!
A 15" speaker sounds a good way to go; I can see the logic completely.  Although I've been using this amp with a 12" Celestion Cream alnico in a faithful Zilla copy of a Third Power cabinet, including the triangular rear port...

I tried the cream alnico too but without any great results and actually went back to the stock Vintage 30.
With the 15” every slight turn on the eq has a noticeable effect. The high wattage helps bring clear definition to each string. However, the tweed channel on mine might be better suited with the V30 as the creaminess has gone. Whereas the reverb now sounds incredible and I’m no fan of reverb.
I made a new 15” baffle for my zilla fat boy. So far so good. Today was the first proper play.
