Been considering a combined comp/drive pedal such as Keeley Aria or Fender Compuglist.
Any other suggestions or thoughts?

  • The only other one that comes to mind is the Truetone Route 66 ( some older versions will be Visual Sound Route 66).
Tipton is a small fishing village in the borough of Sandwell.

  • I had the Aria.  I prefer the compressor in the Red Ruby (by Doc Music Station in France... better quality and less noise... studio grade compressor). And I have drives that sound better to my ears, and so I never used the drive on the Aria.

I have a VS Route 66.  The OD is a very good TS clone, incredibly responsive when set right. The main OD on my board until this year.  The comp copies the Ross design (I think) and there's an internal dip switch for a noisegate.  It's buffered IIRC.  They weren't much over £100 new either.

  • The Analog Alien Joe Walsh pedal looks super cool.

  • DryBell Unit67 is worth knowing about...bit expensive...more of a boost than a drive but it will push an amp very hard if required.

There was one on here for a while, but I think it was withdrawn.

The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.
