New Tele build

I still don’t own a guitar, which is somewhat amusing tbh. But hey, at least I own an amp!

Instead of trying to plan a build out to the last screw, I decided to just see what tickled my fancy as I went along. I think that has happened.. finally! 

Long story cut short, a customer couldn’t continue with a project and so after the refund was done and dusted I had a spare body in stock.

@roland absolutely, every time I tried to plan a build for myself something went wrong! It’s amazing what the mind can do to you sometimes

This is peacock metal flake and I bought it simply because it was similar to the Belfast Giants colour scheme. I had no idea it would look this good against the cream binding. Obviously this is the body after the binding has been scraped, there might even be a coat of clear on it too.

Thank you! It definitely took me by surprise. This particular one has also been finished in 2 pack acrylic lacquer. I think some finishes should be kept as they are.. nitro didn’t seem the right way to go with this one

It's fabulous mate... double bound flakey Tele's right up my street.
2k's great at burying flake and not cracking with the build. I know its not that popular but I like it done right.

I’ve done nitro flakes along with a few 2k acrylic and they all look fab. Nitro takes a good bit longer to work at obviously but both have their ups and downs. I think with this one I wanted to have a new and shiny flake finish that would last. I’ll have other aged stuff of course but I like the deep shine flake look.

Im going to move on to looking at the layout and neck choices next. This doesn't have to be a traditional tele by any stretch. I want it to be a useable and simple rock guitar so I’m not sure that I’ll put a single coil in it. When I’m in the workshop today I’ll have a look at my options again
