Cool guitar. I had a JV strat a while ago that was every bit as good as an American Standard. They used to be a bargain but people seem to have got the measure of them now and prices are getting a bit crazy.

@Epsilon they have gone up but are very good as you said

I had one of those for a few years. Mine was modified in the sense that the finish was coming off in two distinct layers. I helped the rest of it off to reveal the attractively grained basswood body. The selector switch needed reconfiguring to bridge/both/neck. I may have had Duncan pickups until I sold the guitar on locally.

The reasons why I sold were severe fret wear and the excessively shallow neck profile.

My beaten up and modified JV “Sixties” Stratocaster is safely in the custody of Harry Seven. I occasionally miss its Strat/Tele hybrid pickup configuration but not for long. Generally speaking, the AVRI and AV are more satisfying.
