Dexter returns

What's Hot
https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2020/oct/15/dexter-back-ending

For a little while I thought it was the best thing ever on TV and then we had a very bumpy ride toward an non ending. But I am quite excited about this. I used to roll myself around the office in my chair in homage to the show ( Dexter fans will know what I mean).

I did read the original book at one point. It was terrible, quite amazing that they created such a great show from such poor source material.

Anyone unfamiliar with the big D watch the first four seasons and then wait for this new one. You aren’t missing much inbetween.

Dexter was an excellent show, I'll be happy to see it come back.

I actually didn't mind the ending but the Trinity Killer was the pinnacle for me.

Awesome news. One of the best TV series ever. I've receny rewatched it and it still holds up well. Slick, funny dark and very disturbed.

Its one if the few series where a poor ending made me lose all interest in ever watching it again. It was that bad.

Its a shame because I loved most of it

However  the new theme tune seems good  ;)

Up there as one of the best american series I've seen. The finale may have been a letdown but the end of season 4 was brilliant. John Lithgow was great in the Trinity Killer series. Anything with Julie Benz is worth watching too.

Peaked at Season 4 and took a dip in following seasons but definitely worth a fresh run with a chance to recapture top form and revive an old fave. Still live in hope to see Vic Mackey return to our screens one day!!

  • I rewatched it all recently. Yes it takes a dip at the end, but it wasn't as bad as I remembered. Certainly nowhere near the epic fail of the last season of GoT.

    I look forward to this.

    Bye!

    Loved it.
I see that the writers from the first 4 seasons are doing this, so fingers crossed!

Yes. The last few series of GoT was stalling big time and going nowhere. Rushed and unbelievable (not in a good way) ending. I loved the first few series and ended up just watching the last few series in the vain hope it might get better again. It didn't.

My wife says I remind her of him. He’s a handsome git so I take it as a compliment.

I was relieved when his wife Rita was butchered in the bath.
She was one of the most irritating TV characters ever.

Nope.. Skylar from Breaking Bad has that title sewn up.
    My trading feedback

is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?

At least Skylar didn't sound like Mickey Mouse on helium.

Yeah, that was one of the most heart-stopping final episodes of a series I've ever seen. Brilliant TV.

Interestingly, I learned from a Guardian article yesterday that the original screenwriter, Clyde Phillips, left after the end of S4. That was when it all gradually started to go downhill towards that shit-show of an ending. Phillips is back at the helm for this reboot.

I still remain skeptical, but maybe there's a chance it won't be total dog-shit if he's back involved...

Until the abysmal ending, I absolutely loved this series. For me the only fitting resolve would be if he is caught or somehow dies – that's how I hoped the final season would end, anyway. Bringing it back seems like a good idea, which I'm excited about, but I remain sceptical too.

@EricTheWeary – I've read the first two books. You're right, they're terribly written.
